We tell patients that they should be a little patient during the recovery process after rhinoplasty. Because the complete recovery of rhinoplasty surgery varies between 6 months and 2 years. After surgery, the patient is usually discharged after 6-8 hours. However, some patients stay in the hospital overnight.
Nothing should be eaten or drunk for 4-6 hours after surgery. Afterwards, the patient should be fed by consuming watery foods. Although there is a feeling of pain when the anesthesia wears off, this is temporary and can be controlled with painkillers prescribed by the doctor.
During the first 2 days after the operation, mild blood leakage may occur. You can apply ice complex to prevent swelling and edema. It is necessary to go to the doctor’s control 10 days after the operation. Swelling on the face will disappear within 3 to 7 days. After rhinoplasty, you should protect your nose from impacts as much as possible. You should also avoid touching your nose by hand during the first recovery period after the surgery.
